Our Story

Founded in Kuala Lumpur,
built around one question.

Cendana was started because the question kept coming up in conversations: "We know we want to be in Kuala Lumpur — but where do we actually begin?" The people asking were professionals relocating from Singapore, families moving from Europe and East Asia, and senior executives arriving ahead of a long assignment. Capable, unhurried people who simply needed a calm, knowledgeable guide.

So in 2018, we began quietly. No portal listings, no volume targets, no junior staff handling senior enquiries. Just a small team with long experience of Kuala Lumpur's residential fabric — who would take the time to understand what a client actually needed, and then deliver exactly that.

Today, Cendana serves a select number of clients each year — by design. Our capacity to give each engagement proper attention depends on keeping the intake measured. We do not work with everyone who contacts us, and that restraint is part of what makes the service reliable.

Our Mission

Considered before convenient.

There is a version of this work that moves fast, fills quotas, and hands clients into a building before they have had time to form their own sense of the neighbourhood. That is not the service we built.

Cendana moves at the pace that the decision warrants. A long-stay lease in a new country shapes the quality of daily life in ways that are hard to adjust once the ink is dry. We think that deserves more than a morning tour and an afternoon offer.

Every property owner we work with is verified through official land title documentation before any showing is arranged. We do not present unverified listings.

Lease Review Protocol

All tenancy agreements are reviewed by our team before signature. We highlight clauses that are non-standard for the Malaysian market and explain their implications clearly.

Client Confidentiality

Client identities and preferences are never shared with property owners without explicit consent. We manage sensitive information with the same discretion we apply to every other part of our work.

Regulatory Compliance

Our advisory practice operates in full accordance with Malaysian property legislation and the guidelines issued by the Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents and Property Managers.

Honest Counsel

If a building has known management issues, ageing infrastructure, or a noisy environment at certain hours, we say so. Our clients make better decisions when they have accurate information.

Aftercare Commitment

Our relationship with a client does not conclude at lease signing. We remain a point of contact throughout the tenancy for any correspondence that requires local knowledge or language support.
